FEMA will assess northern Wis. flood damage
FEMA will determine if state can request federal disaster declaration
MADISON, Wis. — Gov. Scott Walker asked the Federal Emergency Management Agency Friday to assess flood damage in northern Wisconsin.
Ashland, Bayfield and Douglas counties, and the lands belonging to the tribal group Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa suffered severe storms and flooding.
FEMA will assess the damage starting July 17.
It will help determine if Wisconsin can request a federal disaster declaration.
