Feingold raises $2.4 million, has $3.4 million
Johnson has not yet released fundraising totals
MADISON, Wis. — Democrat Russ Feingold has $3.4 million cash on hand for his U.S. Senate race against Republican incumbent Ron Johnson.
Feingold’s campaign released the latest fundraising figures for July through September to The Associated Press on Thursday before an Oct. 15 filing deadline.
Feingold’s campaign says it raised $2.4 million during the quarter. That is slightly above the $2.3 million he raised in the six weeks after jumping into the race on May 14.
Johnson’s campaign has yet to release his quarterly fundraising totals. In the previous three months, Johnson brought in about $2 million and had $2.7 million cash on hand.
A Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday showed Feingold with a 14-point lead, but pollster Charles Franklin says the numbers suggest most people aren’t focused on the race.
