Feingold: Let FBI gather facts on emails
MADISON, Wis. — Democrat Russ Feingold says the FBI should be given time to gather the facts in a new probe into emails that may be related to Hillary Clinton’s server use.
The FBI announced Friday that it would investigate whether newly discovered emails that appear to be related to the agency’s probe of Hillary Clinton’s email practices contain classified information.
Feingold campaign spokesman Michael Tyler said in an email to The Associated Press that that it’s important to give the FBI time to conduct its probe. Tyler also says that Clinton has acknowledged she made a mistake with her email use and would’ve done things differently.
Feingold is trying to unseat Republican U.S. Ron Johnson in Wisconsin’s highest-profile race this election cycle.
Johnson’s office issued a statement praising the FBI’s decision to open an investigation.
