Father: Brookfield shooting victim died a martyr
Man kills 3 women in shooting rampage
OCONOMOWOC, Wis. — The father of one of the victims in the suburban Milwaukee salon shooting said he’s been told his daughter died heroically — and that the stories don’t surprise him one bit.
Keith Hanson is the father of 38-year-old Maelin Lind, one of three women killed Sunday. He said a sheriff’s deputy told him Lind intervened with the gunman to save a co-worker’s daughter. He said “she did what was right,” and that she died a martyr.
Police identified the gunman as Radcliffe Haughton, who was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police said he had abused his wife, Zina Haughton, for years, and three days after she got a restraining order against him, he stormed into her salon and opened fire. Lind, Zina Haughton and Cary Robuck were killed.
