Fan sends UWPD 20 dozen coconut doughnuts after being ejected from game
A University of Wisconsin football fan who was ejected from Saturday’s game signaled his disapproval to UW police by sending them 20 dozen coconut doughnuts.
In an email to police, he said, “This was meant as a harmless way to both show general gratitude for the job you do (which is awesome) but slight disdain for my treatment Saturday (which was not so awesome,” he read.
“(Doughnuts) are awesome, but coconut doughnuts are not so awesome,” he wrote.
Seats are not assigned, however stadium section is assigned at entry. Twelve others in the man’s group were assigned to a different section from him. He was ejected when he tried to stay with his group, according to police.
The 240 doughnuts arrived on Monday.
The fan said he didn’t feel like he was treated respectfully by officers. He flew from Los Angles to see the game.
UWPD apologized and donated the doughnuts to the Salvation Army Women’s Shelter.
