Faith A. Statz

Faith Allain Statz, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at SSM St. Clare Hospice House in Baraboo on Monday, November 13, 2017.

Born in St. Paul, MN on March 15, 1923, to the late Ralph and Adeline (Johnson) Allain, Faith attended Sauk City High School. She was united in marriage to Herman Statz on July 16, 1940 at St. Martin’s Church in Martinsville; he preceded her in death on February. 18, 2009. She and Herman farmed in Mazomanie and later the West Point Township.

Faith worked at Rudy’s IGA (Sauk City), Grand Avenue School (Prairie Du Sac) as a teacher’s aid and as an assistant in the chiropractic office of Dr. Hooks in Prairie Du Sac before retiring in 1985. She and Herman enjoyed winters in Green Valley, AZ until Herman’s health no longer allowed. There she enjoyed walking, swimming, early morning estate sales, and trips across the border to Mexico. Always an avid exerciser, she was a member of the Forever Young Exercise Group and later led the group up until age 92. Faith was a charter member of Sauk City’s Calvary Baptist Church since 1957.

She is survived by her two sons, Vincent (Kathleen) of Reedsburg, Ronald (Carol) of Prairie du Sac; a daughter, Shirley (Tom) Storandt of Wisconsin Dells; two grandsons, Timothy (Jennifer) and Jeffrey Statz; granddaughter, Michelle Kau; and a great-grandson, Cole Statz; sister in-law, Ann Statz and her faithful dog, Wally.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and daughter.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Sat. November 18, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church, 309 Water St., Sauk City. A visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service. Following lunch, internment will be held in the Mazomanie Cemetery.
