Expect heated battle for Packer QB backup
For a couple seasons, the packers carried just two quarterbacks on their active roster. At the end of last year, they had three. This year, head coach Mike Mccarthy has four in camp.
Aaron Rodgers will be backed up by Graham Harrell, Nick Hill, and 7th round draft pick B.J. Coleman.
“Aaron spoils you because he’s young,” said coach Mike McCarthy. “He doesn’t need the rest. He’s not on a pitch count. You have to be smart with that, too. I think four is a healthy number. I think three really helps you because it helps the competition between the number two and the number three.”
Harrell has the inside track on the number two job, while Hill and Coleman will battle it out for the third spot.
