EVELYN E. (REEB) BUETTNER

MADISON – Evelyn E. Buettner, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, Mar. 29, 2017, at Capital Lakes surrounded by her loving family.

Evelyn was hardworking and loving and left an impression with everyone she met. She was married to Milton Buettner for 55 years until his death. She worked for 30 years at City View nursing home until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family, dancing, especially the polka, doing word finds and watching softball games. She also loved camping, walking the mall and time spent with her coffee clutch and “happy hour” with her neighbor Bill and daughter Ellie.

She is survived by her daughter, Kaye (Joe) McElhone of Woodruff, WI, son, Darrell “Mike” (Nancy) Buettner of Sun Prairie, WI, daughter- in-law, Jackie Buettner of Madison, WI, son, Bill “Bean” Buettner of Madison, WI, daughter, Ellie Buettner of Madison, WI, daughter, Theresa (Tanya Wanninger) Buettner of Edgerton, WI., brother-in-law, Clifford Hotchkiss of Tomahawk, WI; many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great Great Grandchildren; and many Nieces and Nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Buettner; son, James Buettner; her parents, Olive and Michael, and Art and Pearl Marsh who lovingly raised her. Sisters, Mable Foster and Mary Hotchkiss; and brother, Joel Marsh.

A funeral service will be held at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave, Madison, WI 53704. Visitation 11:00am – 1:00pm, Service at 1:00pm, and Interment at Highland Memory Gardens on Cottage Grove Rd at 2 pm on Friday March 31, 2017.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Bread of Life food pantry or family.
