Eunice Mildred Peterson
Lodi – Eunice Mildred “June” Peterson, 97, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Lodi Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Eunice was born in Crawford County on May 18,1916 to Mathias and Ella (Crogan) Thompson.
Eunice was joined in marriage to Lawrence Peterson on August 29, 1942. She is survived by her son Jim (Mary) of Lodi and daughter Connie of New York; three grandchildren: Matthew (Alicia) Finkelstein, Bradley Finkelstein, Megan Peterson, and great-granddaughter Nikoleta Leona; two sisters-in-law Kjellaug Thompson and Margaret Peterson; nieces and nephews, other relatives and many life-long friends. Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence on November 21, 2000, her parents, three siblings: Leona Chellevold, Clara Saegrove, and Paul Thompson.
Eunice was known to her grandchildren as “Grandma June” and known for her baking and special “Gramma Jam”.
A service to celebrate Eunice’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 30 at First Lutheran Church, 206 Pleasant Street in Lodi, where she was a member. Visitation will be held at Hamre Gunderson Funeral Home, 157 S. Main Street, Lodi from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 29 and at the church on January 30 from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
Memorials may be made to Lodi Good Samaritan Nursing Home or First Lutheran Church in Lodi.
