Ervin E. Rollette

Ervin E. Rollette

Ervin E. Rollette, age 94, of Rockton, IL, took the Lord’s hand on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, to begin his journey of eternal rest after a brief stay at Agrace Hospice in Janesville due to complications from a stroke. He was born on July 27, 1922, in Cazenovia WI, the son of Joseph and Caroline (Gasser) Rollette. Ervin began working on the family farm as a very small child. He continued working on the farm until he began driving truck for his brothers who owned the Rollette Trucking Company. Later on, Ervin joined his brothers at Strasburgs in South Beloit, IL becoming the Lumber store Manager. In the mid 1950’s he met June Corbett at their workplace, Strasburgs, and were married on April 15, 1961. Ervin had 1 daughter, Lisa (Lemke) Rollette.
He stayed busy in his retired years caring for his mother and planting on his small private farm. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, South Beloit, and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Much like Vince Lombardi: God, Family and the Green Bay Packers were the three most important aspects of his life. He found pleasure in watching the Chicago Cubs, UW Badgers sports, and boxing as well as enjoyed hunting. Ervin took a little time from his lifetime of hard work to enjoy three vacations with his wife, June. Destinations of Spain, Jamaica and Rome were gifted by his workplace, Strasburgs.

He will be looking over his loved ones, daughter, Lisa (Rollette) Lemke; grandchildren: Christopher (Carolann) Lemke, Holden Lemke, and Heather Lemke; great-granddaughter, Caylee Lemke; sisters, Helen Cunningham, and Jeri (George) Smith; ex-wife, June Corbett; as well as many nieces, nephews, and a never ending list of friends. He is reunited with his parents, Joseph and Caroline (Carrie); brothers: Ronald Rollette, Glen Rollette, and Robert Rollette; and sisters: Lorraine Rego, Mary Geist, and Alice Reum.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 4, 2017, at ST. JOHN VIANNEY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Janesville with the Very Rev. Paul Ugo Arinze officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Memorial donations may be made in Ervin’s name to the American Heart Association or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
His loving, giving spirit will be forever missed.
