Erratic driver rear-ends SUV, gets arrested on suspicion of 5th-offense OWI
MADISON, Wis. — Police arrested a man Tuesday afternoon after the suspect rear-ended an SUV and walked away from the scene.
According to an incident report, 58-year-old Elvin Webster was driving erratically when he rear-ended another vehicle at the intersection of Williamson and South Baldwin streets. Webster walked away from the crash, but witnesses provided law enforcement officials with a description of Webster.
Police said Webster had been driving erratically, weaving in and out of a traffic lane and sporadically slowing down and speeding up before the crash.
Webster was later found on Ingersoll Street and arrested on suspicion of fifth-offense OWI.
