Ernest Edgar Luttig, 88, of Richland Center died Saturday, February 22, 2014. He was born in Richland County on October 17, 1925 the son of Henry and Anna (Bruckner) Luttig. In 1955 Ernest married Hazel Graham and she preceded him in death in 1966.
He farmed near Boaz until moving to Richland Center in 1974. Ernest enjoyed helping other people by tilling their gardens and plowing their snow. He took delight in shopping for cars and spending time in his garden. Ernest was always available to help his brothers and sisters whenever they needed him.
Ernest is survived by one daughter, Sheila (David) Minett of Germantown, granddaughter, Stephanie (Kevin) Krenz of Madison, three sisters: Alvina Merry of Bloom City, Amanda Propp of Richland Center, Dorothea Newberry of Richland Center; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, wife Hazel, seven sisters: Christina Watkins, Eva Bayne, Clara Fowell, Louisa Matzke, Esther Propp, Freda Spry, Bernice Oler and four brothers: August, Arthur, Edward, and Rubert Luttig
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery in Lancaster.
Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
