Ending January with mild weather -Dana

MADISON, Wis. — January is typically the coldest month in southern Wisconsin. Though there have been a few days with wind chills well below zero, the last week of the month will be quite mild for winter.

Temperatures in late January average in the middle to upper 20s for afternoon highs, and in the lower to middle teens for overnight lows. Afternoon highs this week will instead be in the middle 30s, about 10 degrees above average for some areas. Overnight lows will stay in the 20s. Skies will remain cloudy with only a few opportunities for flurries or freezing drizzle, but no accumulating snowfall is expected for the work week.Extended forecast
