EMT with Ixonia Fire Department dies of COVID-19

IXONIA, Wis. — An EMT who worked for the Ixonia Fire Department and emergency medical services has died due to complications from the coronavirus.
Kelly Raether, a 15-year member of the department, worked as an Advanced EMT, EMS Lieutenant and EMS Captain, according to a Facebook post form the fire department.
“As a department, we mourn Kelly’s loss deeply, and extend out thoughts and prayers to the Raether family in their time of need,” the post reads.
According to the post, Raether also a worked as a registered nurse at a Harford hospital and as a nursing instructor at Carroll University in Waukesha.
