Steenbock’s on Orchard sets a new standard for dining on campus. Located in the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, this is no college cafeteria! In a bright and understated room, the emphasis is on what’s on the plate: from the impressive presentation of the seared scallops served with short rib ravioli and parsnip puree in veal demi-glace to the opulent work-of-art desserts.

Chef Michael Pruett creates imaginative dishes from a local larder with a multitude of flavors, some French, some Asian. Despite all its sophistication, the service is academic and the style Madison casual. Nearby parking is available for lunch and dinner patrons.
