Emmaline “Emmie” Speth, 91, of Belmont, Wisconsin died on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Manor Care, Platteville.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. (Noon) Saturday, February 4, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. Rev. Connie Matye will officiate. Burial will be at the Belmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, at the church. Memorials may be made to the M. Emmaline “Emmie” Speth Memorial Fund. Emmie was born on February 8, 1925 in Benton, Wisconsin, daughter of Russell and Gladys (Dent) Spensley. She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Speth on March 4, 1948 at the Peace Lutheran Church, Belmont. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2014. They were blessed with a son, Ronald Speth, born on August 21, 1950.
Emmie was a member of the Lutheran Church of Peace and Legion Auxiliary Hinkins Moody Post 453. For many years she worked at Knebel’s Processing Plant, and Belmont Fresh Meats where she retired from in 2004. She enjoyed working, baking and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sue Speth; sister, Sara Popp; brother-in-law, Charles Scheidegger and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, Ronald in 1996, parents, one brother John Spensley and three sisters, Elizabeth Daack, Audrey Scheidegger and Ruth Ann Spensley.
