Elsper C. (McGuire) Hach, age 90, of Highland, passed away surrounded by her family, on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Upland Hills Nursing & Rehab. following a long illness. The former Elsper McGuire was born on December 14, 1921 in Highland Township to John N. and Viola (Gottschall) McGuire. Elsper married Raymond Hach of Highland on June 5, 1945. The couple farmed for 37 years on Farmers Ridge Road until retiring into the Village of Highland in 1988. She earned her teaching degree from Richland Normal School and taught in several rural schools until she started her family. She was a member of Ss. Anthony & Philip Parish and Altar Society and taught religious education. Elsper enjoyed cooking, canning, baking (especially Poppy Seed Biscuits), gardening, sewing and making quilts. Her greatest joy was the time spent with her family. She was a very caring mother who always put the needs of her family before her own.

Elsper is survived by her daughters, Linda (Mike) Drea; Lois (Scott) Turner and Sandra (Phil) McCarthy; her sons, Lyle (Joyce); Larry (Alice); Lloyd (Lori); Gary (Mary Ann); Alan (Julie); Wayne (Sonya) and Kevin (Cindy) Hach; her grandchildren, Jamie (Bill) Batz; Cory Drea; Jennifer, Jeremy and Jordan Hach; Ryan Hach and Shara (Mat) Vross; Dena and Dana Hach; Aaron, Craig and Sarah Turner; Tracy (Matt) Nelson, Kurt McCarthy and Kelly (Chad) De Hart; A.J. Haffner and Morgan Hach; Brian (Christine), Brandon and Travis Hach; Kyle and Matthew Hach and Andie and Alyx Hach; her great grandchildren, Justin and Jared Batz; Alex, Jacob and Madeline Nelson and one great grandchild on the way. She is also survived by her sisters, Eileen Dax and Patricia (Robert) Wardell; her brothers, Paul (Jan) McGuire and Donald (Marilyne) McGuire; her sisters-in-law, Magdalen, Alice, Ann and Evangeline McGuire who was also a very special friend as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on November 21, 1991; her parents; sisters, Carol (Joseph) Greenheck and Wanda Lou McGuire in infancy; her brothers, Clyde, Kenneth, John, Dale (Delores), Robert, Rodney (Marion), Howard and Lowell McGuire and a brother-in-law, J.B. Dax.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Ss. Anthony & Philip Catholic Church in Highland. Fr. Kenneth J. Frisch will officiate with burial in St. Philip’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Thursday after 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may given for Upland Hills Hospice or an Education Scholarship to be given in Elsper’s name.

Elsper’s family wishes to express their thanks for the exceptional care given at home by Connie and Maria and all the special care provided at Upland Hills Health and the Hospice staff, especially Stacey.
