Ellen May Boyce
FITCHBURG – Ellen May Boyce (nee Lembrich) passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Wisconsin, Ellen was born Sept. 1, 1924, in Janesville and was employed by the City of Madison Police Department for more than 20 years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling; and, during her retirement, she was a devoted volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House in Madison.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur K. Boyce of Madison; her parents, Elmer J.and Lucille Lembrich; and a brother, Elmer V. Lembrich, all of Janesville. She is survived by her four children, Janet Boyce of Richmond, Va., Jean Boyce (John Fenlon) of Tucson, Ariz., Alan Boyce (Joan) of McFarland, and Jo Hoffman (Mark) of Fitchburg; as well as her three grandchildren, Jennifer Boyce, Matthew Hoffman and Ellen Hoffman. She is also survived by her siblings, Mary Johnson (Nolan) of Madison and Margaret Tegt, Paul Lembrich and Alfred Lembrich (Nancy) all of Janesville; as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON FITCHBURG FUNERAL HOME, 2950 Chapel Valley Road, Fitchburg, at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012. Interment will be at Milton Lawns Memorial Park in Janesville at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, with graveside services conducted by the Rev. Daniel Decker of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s research and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Madison.
