Elizabeth “Betty” (Sherwin) Tadwalt
Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Sherwin) Tadwalt, age 88, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2018.
Betty was born in Milwaukee in 1929, and was raised during the Great Depression as one of eight children in the Joseph and Josephine Sherwin family. In 1947, she graduated from Rufus King High School in Milwaukee, marrying Army Sergeant Donald Tadwalt in 1950. For many years, Betty lived the life of military spouse and developed many friends among other Army families while residing in Colorado, Texas and Kansas. When Don retired from the Service in 1965, he and Betty settled in Beaver Dam, with their family. Betty and Don were married for 57 years before he passed away in 2007. A long time employee of the Weyenberg Shoe Company in Beaver Dam, Betty enjoyed country music, dancing, and watching golf and baseball, especially Bubba Watson and the Chicago Cubs.
Betty is survived by her children, Shelly (Ron) Miller, Bobbi Tadwalt (Todd Bass) and Traci (Tim) Nolan; grandsons, Ben Miller, Sam Miller, and John Reynolds; her brother Jim (Charlotte) Sherwin; sister-in-law Pat Sherwin; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and son, James (Linda); her sisters, Carol Kuells, Phyllis Pirk and Gloria Sherwin; her brothers, Allen Sherwin, Donald Sherwin and Gerald Sherwin; and other family members.
A funeral service will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park Chapel, 401 Femrite Drive, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Roselawn from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
