Elizabeth “Betty” Markham Perdue
EAST TROY— Elizabeth “Betty” Markham Perdue, age 63, of East Troy, died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, at her home.
She was born in Brookline, MA, on July 3, 1950, the daughter of Fay “Bud” and Ruth Wright (Drown) Markham. Betty graduated from Peter’s Township High School in Pittsburgh, PA, received her Bachelors degree from UW Whitewater and her Masters degree from Walden University. She married John “Jack” R. Perdue on Dec. 11, 1971, in Orlando, FL. Betty was a teacher at Milton High School for over 20 years. She was a member of the NEA, WEA, and the Key Club. She enjoyed boating, scuba, watching baseball and hockey, shopping, travel, and her rose garden.
Betty is survived by her husband, Jack; 3 children: Bethany (Scott) Whalen of Delavan, Karin (Matthew) Texidor of East Troy, and Matthew Perdue of Congers, NY; 4 grandchildren: Elise, Wyatt, Will, and Lane; a brother, David (Debbie) Markham of Atlanta; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Scott Markham; and a sister, Linda Markham Jones.
A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at MILTON HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY with a time of sharing to begin at 5:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Milton High School Key Club.
