Eleanor M. Gunderson
MADISON – Eleanor M. Gunderson, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Oak Park Place. She was born on June 21, 1927, in Stoughton, the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Jorgenson) Skoien. Eleanor married Roger Gunderson on Feb. 11, 1945, in Stoughton. She worked at U.W. Provisions in Middleton and a Nurses aid at Colonial Manor (Belmont). She enjoyed being an Avon Representative, doing crafts, visiting with family and friends, and traveling up North. Everyone would always come before her.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence R. (Marsha) Gunderson of Monona and Lloyd “Steve” (Susan) Gunderson of Janesville; three grandchildren, Matt (Lindsey) Gunderson of Madison and their children, Jesse and Jaxson, Stephanie Minich of Janesville and her children, Gracie, Kaelyn and Kenna, and Casey Gunderson of Milwaukee; two sisters, Dorothy Mehrkens of Stoughton and Joan Vike of Stoughton, sister-in-law, Joyce Skoien of Evansville, along with nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; and brother, Lawrence.
Funeral services will be held at ST. STEPHENS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the church. A special thank you to the staff at Oak Park Nursing and Rehabilitation for their love and care that they gave mom. “Oh Honey”, you will be missed.
