Editorial: YWCA’s Amplify Madison program is the definition of equal opportunity
MADISON, Wis. — Just two months into the new year and we are pleasantly surprised by the number of effort to level the playing field we are finding here in Dane County.
The latest example is the YWCA’s Amplify Madison program which is soliciting applications for cohort three of teams of women seeking professional development opportunities. All people who identify as women and in particular women of color are invited to apply in teams of three people for funding up to $7500.
The teams chosen will travel for professional development around the United States and abroad and bring new skills back home to integrate the learning into collaborations with the broader Madison community.
Amplify Madison is about empowerment, stronger relationships and sharing knowledge through experiences in which applicants would otherwise be unable to participate. That’s the definition of equal opportunity. Apply now at ywcamadison.org before selection begins March 22.
