Editorial: State, UW employees partner in giving
MADISON, Wis. — Among other positive changes from the election of a new governor in Wisconsin is the return of respect for state employees and their contributions to the quality of life that state government supports for all citizens.
Demonizing state workers for political purposes has not been one of our better moments as a state. But through it all, state and UW employees have continued to make a difference in a variety of ways.
And once again, as a group, they’ve come up big time in the Partners in Giving Combined Campaign of Dane County.
It was announced at a celebration this week that more than 6,000 state, university and UW Health employees donated over $2.4 million to 520 charities during the 2018 campaign. That is generous and inspiring. It’s also heartfelt, as is our thanks.
