Editorial: Read Up Madison campaign needs help
MADISON, Wis. — We’re so close. With three days to go in the Read Up Madison campaign to support the Madison School District’s Read Up summer reading program we’re just $10,000 short of our goal.
First of all, thank you. More than 500 donors have contributed including over $5,600 to match local businesswoman Joan Collins’s amazing challenge grant.
Businesses like MGE and M3 Insurance have joined partners WISC TV and the Wisconsin State Journal in the effort to get new books and summer reading support for more kids at more sites and keep these kids on the path to academic success. But we’d love to reach our $100,000 goal before Saturday and really give the program a boost.
You can still send a check to the Foundation for Madison Public Schools, or donate online at Channel3000.com or Madison.com. The project is a success already. Just a little more and we can really celebrate Read Up Madison.
