The late Marquette University basketball coach Al McGuire used to call it “white-knuckle time.” Time is running out and the game’s on the line. We’re not too nervous about United Way of Dane County reaching this year’s campaign goal. After all, this community has always stepped up before.

But we don’t ever want to take your generosity, or United Way’s ability to respond to our community’s most important needs, for granted. So we are reminding you that there’s a little less than a month to go in this year’s campaign and we’re asking you to contribute what you can if you haven’t already.

And we mean, contribute what you can. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps. Our United Way is good. It uses our money wisely. It supports home visits to get kids ready for school, training programs to get folks ready for work, housing stabilization through Housing First and so much more. There’s still time. But now is the time to support United Way.
