Editorial: Quality specialty care for uninsured people at BSP Free Clinic
MADISON, Wis. — The Benevolent Specialist Project is the only multi-specialty free clinic in the state, and we are big fans.
The BSP Free Clinic’s mission is providing specialty care, like cardiology, endocrinology and orthopedics, by volunteer medical and nursing professionals to patients who are underinsured or low income.
Last year at this time we asked for your help in keeping BSP Free Clinic’s doors open after original funding sources dried up. You responded and the clinic was able to provide specialty care to more than 850 patients.
The dedicated volunteer professionals would like to expand even further in 2019 and it would be a tremendous benefit to southern Wisconsin if they could. So again, we ask you to consider the BSP Free Clinic in your end-of-the-year giving plans.
These good folks say it is their privilege to care for those in need. It’s our privilege to help them do that.
