The Local Voices Network has had a great first year. It continues to grow in scope and influence, and it’s one of the success stories in the context of our editorial agenda for 2019.

On Sunday’s For The Record program, which you can find on Channel3000.com, Local Voices Network Madison leader Kathy Cramer gave a very positive report on the hundreds of folks in our area who participated in facilitated discussions, sharing their concerns and listening to the perspectives of others in their small groups. It was a welcome antidote to the political noise of the week and the regular reminders of the divisions we are wrestling with right now.

But Cramer also announced that LVN would be partnering with United Way of Dane County to offer local voices feedback that could be helpful as United Way celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2020. What better end to 2019 than the promise of more purposeful listening in the new year?
