Saturday, one of Madison biggest and boldest ideas becomes a reality. The Madison College Goodman Campus on Madison’s South side is a game changer.

There are two equally important elements to the vision and potential for the new campus. The first is its location and the impact the facility will have on the development of the Park Street corridor and the surrounding area and neighborhoods. It’s the cornerstone of a revitalization of the whole South side from Fish Hatchery Road to Lake Monona including the Alliant Energy Center.

But there is also the intentionality of the mission of the Goodman Campus; its target student population, its course offerings, its hours and accessibility, and its thorough integration of the entire community in its space and resources. President Jack Daniels and his team have built a new piece of the foundation of our region that will contribute to and shape its future. We join in celebrating its grand opening.
