Wiser heads prevail.
Editorial: Dem’s Common Sense Returns

We were pretty disappointed in the Democrats for their ugly interpersonal dustup last week over Senator Tim Cullen’s committee appointments. It was petty and reflected poorly on our elected leaders, and we said so. And for that reason we have to acknowledge that wiser heads prevailed and rather than let the thing fester it got cleared up and everybody’s moving on.

What we like most is that Senators Jon Erpenbach and Bob Jauch spoke up publically and frankly said the right things. Senator Mark Miller listened and changed his mind. We still don’t like the way things are done in politics today and feel the wrong people are making the decisions. But the resolution of the Cullen episode shows that elected officials are still capable of leading when they want to. And that’s a good sign.
