Edith Bernice “Pat” Holzhueter Roth
MADISON–Edith Bernice “Pat” Holzhueter Roth, age 75, passed away at home on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014.
She was born in Waukegan, Ill., the daughter of Jerome and Bernice (Roland) Felt. The family relocated to Madison when she was 5 years old.
Pat was a proud graduate of Wisconsin High School. She married Bob Holzhueter and raised her family in Stoughton. Pat enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening and her family. She was a long time volunteer for the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.
Pat married David “Tom” Roth in 2004 after an extended courtship. Tom and Pat spent time traveling, remodeling their home and entertaining family and friends.
Pat is survived by her husband, Tom Roth; children, Nancy Smithback, Michael (Tami Zepnick), Mark and Beth; two grandchildren, Maxim and Anja; two brothers, Al Felt and Richard Felt (Nympha); step-children, David (Kristie) Roth and Michelle Ferguson; five step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Sally Genter and Bonnie Harrison.
A memorial service will be held at ST. STEPHEN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Rd, Monona, at 3 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, with the Rev. Tim Hanson presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of the service with the VFW Post No. 7591 Auxiliary to pass and review prior to the service on Sunday. A celebration of life with food and fellowship to follow at VFW Post No. 7591, 301 Cottage Grove Rd., Madison.
