Edgewood’s Davis will fit right in at UW

Edgewood High School senior Amy Davis has quite a running resume.

She won the 1600 and 3200 meter runs at the WIAA State Track and Field Meet last June.

In November, she won the State Division Two Individual Cross Country Championship.

This week, she broke a 34-year old record in the 3200 at the Madison City Championships – and next year she’ll run at the University of Wisconsin.

Davis’ mom, Nan Doak-Davis was an NCAA Champion and nine-time All-American runner at the University of Iowa.

Her dad, Barry is the head wrestling coach at the University of Wisconsin.

“I’m super excited!”, Amy says. “Having Dad at the office is super nice because I’ll go down there and be like ‘I’m gonna be here soon.”
