Edgewood wins second straight WIAA boys golf title
Lakeside's Lukas Heckmann wins individual crown
VERONA — Edgewood won its second straight WIAA Division Two boys team golf championship and Lakeside Lutheran’s Lukas Heckmann won the individual title Tuesday at University Ridge Golf Course in Verona.
Heckmann shot four under par 68 in Monday’s first round, but struggled to a 79 (+7) on Tuesday, but still managed to win the individual championship.
Drew Arndt led the Crusaders with a two-day total of 150 (+6) to finish second individually, three shots behind Heckmann.
Matthew Phelan (T3 – 151), Rory Gierhart (T3 – 151), James Gilmore (T3 – 151) and Karl Gilmore (T24 – 166) are the other members of Edgewood’s winning team.
In Division One, Marquette University (598) won the championship with Arrowhead (606) second.
Middleton (624) tied for sixth while Janesville Parker (641) was 10th and Verona Area (647) finished 11th.
In Division Three, St. Mary’s Springs (642) won its fourth straight championship with Abundant Life / Country Day (692) second.
Spring Valley’s Tyler Leach (150) won the individual title.
New Glarus’s Matt Hach (156) was tied for sixth.
