The Edgewood Crusaders will play the Waukesha North Co-Op in the boys quarterfinals at the WIAA State Hockey tournament at Alliant Energy Center in Madison Thursday.

The Crusaders will be making their first appearance at state since 2010.

It’s really exciting especially for senior year coming around and be able to put together a playoff run to get to state for our school and for our team,” said senior goaltender Tommy Mohs. “That’s a really cool feeling and I’m just excited to be here.”

“It’s been a goal all year long, but they took their time,” said head coach Pete Rothering. “We didn’t get too far ahead of ourselves. The guys did a really good job of approaching it day by day, working hard, but to get here, I think they’re really excited.”

The Rock County Fury will make its first appearance at the state girls tournament Friday morning at 11 against the Hayward Co-Op.
