Edgewood, Lancaster lead WIAA boys golf

Edgewood leads Division 2 and Lancaster leads Division 3 after the first round of the WIAA State Boys Golf Tournament at University Ridge in Verona.

Johnny Decker’s 72 paces the Crusaders (301) to the first round lead in Division 2 by four shots over Catholic Memorial (317) . Sheboygan Falls is third (316), River Valley fourth (319).

Edgewood’s Tommy Mohs is tied for seventh individually with 74, and Ben Gilles is tied for seventh with 76.

Dodgeville’s Chapin Orr is tied for fourth overall with a 73 and McFarland’s Jackson Eversoll is tied for seventh with 74.

Lancaster (317) leads Division 3 by eight shots over Osseo-Fairchild (325). Zach Hentrich shot two over par 74. Teammate Andrew Gates is tied for fourth with a first round 77.

The second and final round is at University Ridge Tuesday.
