Edgerton man arrested after chase

A burglary investigation lead to a chase and arrest of an Edgerton man, according to Edgerton police.

Officers responded to Yeske Construction, 427 W. High St. to investigate a burglary Monday.

A vehicle was taken from a garage and was spotted by an officer at 1:15 a.m. on West Lawton Street. Police said the vehicle fled, avoided stop-sticks on Highway 51, but was not able to avoid them when returning to Edgerton on Highway 59. The vehicle came to a stop in the ditch at West Fulton Street and Dallman Road.

Andrew A Hopp, 25, was arrested on suspicion of burglary, operating a vehicle without the owners’ consent, criminal damage to property, knowingly fleeing an officer, second offense OWI, operating after vocation, and theft.
