Eastside residents robbed at gunpoint, Madison police say

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are investigating an armed robbery on the city’s east side near Olbrich Park Beach.

Officers were sent to the 3500 block of Johns Street around 1:30 p.m. Monday for a reported robbery.

The victims told police they were robbed at gunpoint after catching one of the suspects rummaging through their vehicle. After one of the victims said something to the suspect, two others pointed handguns at one of the victims and threatened him, according to an incident report.

Authorities said the suspects then stole the victim’s personal items and drove off in a black Honda Pilot.

Police described the suspects as young, thing Black men somewhere between the ages of 16 and 20. They were reportedly wearing dark clothing and black ski masks.
