About 80 World War II veterans are leaving from the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual convention in Oshkosh as for an Honor Flight.

They leave Friday morning for Washington, D.C., where will spend the day touring memorials. They will get a special ceremony when they return in the evening.

Also at AirVenture Friday are eight Tuskegee Airmen who are expected to share their memories of their time in World War II.

There will also be re-creation of the attack on Pearl Harbor, with volunteers and aircraft of the Commemorative Air Force. It will include ground operations, maintenance, pilots and pyrotechnic experts.

Country singer Phil Vassar will perform in the evening.
