Drunken driver turns into oncoming traffic, hits curb, deputies say
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A Janesville woman faces her fourth drunken driving charge Saturday night after driving into a turn lane of oncoming traffic and hitting a curb, Rock County officials said.
A Rock County sheriff’s deputy found a vehicle in traffic on Beloit Avenue by Highway 11 that was facing the wrong direction and had a flat tire, according to a release.
The deputy found the driver, 25-year-old Jasmine M. Delap, in the vehicle, officials said.
Delap was driving west on Highway 11 and attempted to turn north onto Beloit Avenue, investigators said. Delap missed her lane and entered a turn lane for oncoming traffic, which is when she hit a curb and one of her tires went flat.
Delap showed signs of impairment and smelled of intoxicants, the deputy said. She was arrested on a tentative charge of fourth-offense operating while intoxicated. She was also cited for having a revoked driver’s license and may receive additional citations.
