Drunk driver causes east side crash, police say
Victim's car significantly damaged
MADISON, Wis. — A Sun Prairie man was arrested after a crash on Madison’s east side Monday, according to police.
Police said responded at 8 p.m. to an area of American Parkway where a motorist reported almost being struck by a Jeep driving in the wrong land of traffic without headlights on. Dispatchers said a few moments later there was a report of a crash.
The Jeep driven by Morris Brown, 58, struck a car driven by a 19-year-old Waunakee woman near Eastpark Boulevard, according to police.
The woman told police the Jeep “came right at her.”
Her car sustained significant damage, but she was not seriously injured.
Brown was arrested on suspicion of causing injury while operating a vehicle while under the influence and endangering safety with a firearm while intoxicated.
Police said Brown had a concealed carry permit for a loaded handgun police found in a jacket pocket.
