Drivers could pay more at pump over summer
Political unrest in Iraq pushes price of crude oil higher
MADISON, Wis. — Drivers will be shelling out more money for gas this summer as political unrest in Iraq is pushing the price of crude oil higher.
Analysts said the extra costs will likely equal more pain at the pump.
According to AAA, nationally prices are up two cents in a week, but Wisconsin drivers haven’t seen the worst of it yet.
Right now the state average is $3.72 a gallon. Madison drivers are paying $3.61 a gallon, which is down a penny from last week.
The average for Janesville is $3.66, which is the same for La Crosse. In Milwaukee prices are closer to $4.
