MADISON, Wis. — Madison police say someone crashed into an occupied squad car on the city’s west side earlier this week.

A Madison police officer said they were driving east on Mineral Point Rd. and approaching S. Gammon Rd. as part of their normal patrol duties just before 8 p.m. on Monday night when another driver sped through the intersection without stopping.

The car crashed into the driver’s side door of the squad car, but the driver of the car and the officer driving the squad car were able to avoid injury.

Police say the driver of the car that sped through the intersection was given a ticket for failure to yield while making a left turn.
