Driver seriously injured in single car crash, Madison police say
Alcohol, high speed likely factors, police say

MADISON, Wis. — A driver was seriously injured during a Wednesday morning crash on Madison’s near east side.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the 1000 block of Williamson St. around 1:30 a.m., according to a release by the Madison Police Department.
Police said a driver was pinned inside a vehicle after it struck a tree. A Madison Fire Department crew had to extricate the driver from the vehicle due to the amount of damage, the release said.
The driver was taken to a local hospital with significant injuries.
Police said “evidence of high speeds and alcohol use” were found at the scene.
