Driver of vehicle involved in New Year’s Eve car vs. snowplow crash has died
DODGEVILLE, Wis. — The driver of a vehicle that collided with a snowplow truck on New Year’s Eve has died, according to a news release from the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department.
Kathryn Dejak, 76, was driving westbound on County Road C when she lost control of her vehicle. According to a news release, the passenger side of her car struck an Iowa County snowplow truck. Deputies said the car slid into a ditch and overturned onto its side.
Dejak was airlifted to UW Hospital via Med Flight. She died Friday from injuries suffered in Tuesday’s crash.
Kaila M. Dorau, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials said everyone involved in the crash had been wearing seat belts.
Authorities said the recent snowfall led to icy road conditions and was a factor in the crash.
