Driver misses curve, crashed into propane tank, officials say
CASSVILLE, Wis. — A Potosi man was not injured Saturday after missing a curve on Highway 133 and crashing into a large propane tank, according to a release.
Grant County sheriff’s deputies were sent just after 7 p.m. to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 133 near the intersection of Sand Lake Lane, officials said.
Scott Oyen, 26, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado north on Highway 133 when he missed a curve in the roadway, drove off the east side of the road into a ditch and eventually crashed into a large propane tank owned by the Grant County Highway Department, according to the release.
The propane tank was dislodged from its position and was moved several feet from its original location, officials said. The Cassville Fire Department and Premier Cooperative disabled the tank and put it in a safe spot.
The Chevrolet was heavily damaged in the crash, according to the release. Oyen was not injured.
Oyen was cited for not wearing his seat belt and failure to keep a vehicle under control.
