Driver found stuck in mud faces 7th drunken driving charge, police say
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A Janesville man is in the Rock County jail Friday morning facing charges for his seventh drunken driving charge.
A deputy was sent just before midnight to the 6400 block of East County Road MM for a traffic complaint, according to a release. The deputy found 57-year-old John F. Wallace and an older Chevrolet pickup truck stuck in the mud along the north side of the road.
Wallace admitted to operating the truck. The deputy said Wallace smelled like alcohol and that his eyes were glossy and bloodshot.
Wallace was eventually arrested on a tentative charge of seventh-offense operating while under the influence.
Court records show Wallace was cited in the fall of 2016 in Walworth County for driving without a license.
