Dr. David A. Doll
Middleton-Dr. David A. Doll, age 85, of Middleton, passed away on Monday, April 24, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
He was born on November 14, 1931, in Madison, the son of Joseph and Evelyn (Dickert) Doll. David graduated from Edgewood High School and went on to further his education at Marquette University, where he earned his degree in Dentistry. He proudly served his country from 1956-1958 in the United States Air Force.
David was united in marriage to Kathleen Steiger on May 21, 1966.
David had a variety of interests which included camping and canoeing, and more recently, carving wooden toys for all the grandchildren; he truly treasured spending time with his family. He was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 140, Middleton, where he watched all five of his sons earn their Eagle Scout Awards. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and, along with his wife, received the 1989 Middleton Good Neighbor Award.
David is survived by his wife Kathleen, and his children John (Jody) Doll, Susan (Tim) Giles, Michael (Jill) Doll, Thomas (Carrie) Doll, Karen Doll, Andrew (Nola) Doll, Julie (Scott) Purtell; two sisters, Patricia Doll and Marilyn Doll Rayner; as well as 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Evelyn Doll; a son, Joseph (Marcia) Doll and an infant daughter, Amy Eileen Doll.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD’S CATHOIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave, Middleton, at 11:00 am on Friday, April 28, 2017, with Father Brian Wilk presiding. Burial will be held at St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 7435 University Ave., Middleton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, April 27, 2017, and also at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass.
