Douglas J. Currie
Douglas J. Currie, age 64, of Dodgeville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Bloomfield Healthcare following a 2-year battle with lung cancer.
Doug was born on March 23, 1952 in Madison to William and Elizabeth (Custer) Currie. After graduating from East High School in Madison, he served in the U.S. Air Force and completed a tour of duty in Vietnam. Doug worked as a truck driver for several years and retired from J.H. Findorff & Son. Doug was a caring father who loved to work on old cars and liked listening to the oldies. Doug also enjoyed fishing, watching the Packers, and playing poker with his friends.

Doug is survived by his son, Ryan (Megan) Currie of Dodgeville; his daughter, Shannon Currie of Dodgeville; His wife, Rose of Dodgeville; Rose’s children, Angie (Shannon) Vance of Edmund; Shelly (Davin) Bushey of Sun Prairie; Gary Tyrer of Dodgeville and RC (Angela) Lindeman of Darlington; two grandchildren: Connor, Natalie, seven step grandchildren: Scott, Trae, Tierra, Amanda, Nicole, Darrien and Trinity; three sisters, Donna (Bill) Johnson of Stoughton; Mary Jo Currie of Sun Prairie and Diane (Al) Wiggen of Stoughton; one brother, Bill Currie of Cottage Grove; two half siblings: James(Liz) Currie of Verona, Helen Tuhus of Appleton as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other dear friends.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home in Dodgeville ending with Military Honors at 4:00 P.M.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Red Room bar and Restaurant following the Military Honors Services.
