DOT grant will build 2 new streets in Fitchburg
$1 million grant will build Sprocket, Spoke drives near Verona Road
FITCHBURG, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will present the city of Fitchburg a grant Thursday to build two new municipal streets, according to a release.
WisDOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb will present the $1 million Transportation Economic Assistance grant to build Sprocket and Spoke drives, officials said.
The new streets will improve access to expanding Fitchburg businesses Certco Inc. and Saris Cycling Group, Inc., according to the release. Other growing businesses in the Arrowhead Neighborhood may also benefit from the new streets.
A news conference will be held Thursday morning to present the grant near the location of the new roads, which is just off the Verona Road Frontage Road.
