DOT: Construction on 3 bridges over I-39/90 to start this week

MnDOT approves Winona bridge rehab work for nearly $39M

Construction on three bridges over Interstate 39/90 is expected to start this week, according to a release from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.

Construction work is expected to start on the County BN bridge over I-39/90, south of the County Road N interchange and northeast of Stoughton, officials said.

Starting late this month, the County Road BN bridge will be removed for four months so crews can build the new bridge in the same location, according to the release.

The Church Street bridge over I-39/90 near the County Road BN overpass will be removed in mid-July officials said. The Williams Drive bridge, north of the County Road N interchange, is scheduled to be removed in August.

Both bridges will be closed for four months as crews build the new bridges in the same spot.

The interstate will stay open to two lanes of traffic during the day with periodic nighttime single-lane closures between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., according to the release.

The $7 million interstate expansion from the Illinois state line to the Highway 12/18 interchange near Madison is expected to be done in mid-December.
