DOT: Beltline lanes reopen after Badger Bus fully engulfed in flames
MADISON, Wis. — All lanes on the Beltline have reopened after a Badger Bus was fully engulfed in flames around 3 p.m. Thursday.
The bus driver was able to get everybody off the bus in time, and fire officials say there have been no reports of injuries.
All lanes were blocked on eastbound U.S. 12/18 at Park Street, according to Department of Transportation officials.
The water used to put out the fire caused ice to form, and streets division workers responded to spread salt on the roadways, according to the Madison Fire Department.
Traffic was being diverted off the mainline at Park Street and there were delays.
